Katherine Holmes

Katherine is an RAD and ISTD trained dancer, and dance teacher. She has danced professionally in Cabaret shows in Japan, and has performed in musicals ( The national dutch tour of 'Crazy For you', 'Into the Woods', '42nd Street', 'Bye Bye Birdie'...to name a few) variety shows and televised awards shows overseas. Whilst living in Holland for 7 years, Katherine taught ballet, tap and jazz to dutch children and adults - from tiny 2 year olds to grandmothers. Katherine has been trained and successfully examined at the highest levels in all forms of dance - RAD Ballet, ISTD Modern dance and ISTD Tap dance. She has also completed high level exams in both Singing and Drama with AMEB and Trinity College London, and has completed AMEB exams in both Piano and music Theory. She also holds a bachelor degree in Music Theatre, and is currently studying her Masters of teaching in both Primary teaching and Secondary teaching in Dance, Drama and Music. Katherine created and co-managed an R&B / Disco band 'Groovecentrix' for some years, and most recently has worked as a fill-in singer for the 'Blues Brothers Tribute Show Australasia Tour', playing the role of 'Twiggy'. Currently she is a backing singer for the 'Diamond Down under' Neil Diamond tribute show. She is also the mother of a 10 year old and 5 year old who both love to dance and sing!

Kathryn (Katie) began dancing at the tender age of four. At thirteen she began her teaching as an assistant tutor and eventually to study ‘A level Theatre Studies’ at sixth-form college. In 1985 she successfully gained a place at the NORTHERN BALLET SCHOOL Manchester UK; here she trained for three years as a teacher/dancer. After graduating as a teacher and performer, Katie spent five years working on some of the finest luxury liners, whilst travelling the world and appearing as Dancer/Singer in Revue shows such as CHESS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and GYPSY.
After gaining promotion from Dance Captain to Assistant Choreographer she eventually became ‘In-House’ Choreographer for MATRIX ENTERTAINMENTS Production Company, and was responsible for all aspects of Production, including lighting and Stage Direction. Other Choreographic Experience includes five Revue shows for ‘VIVAS INTERNATIONAL’, (First class entertainment in Japan), THE JANE MCDONALD SHOW, (Blackpool Opera House) Russian Ballet Company,’ BALLET RUSSE,’ Children’s productions staged around the UK, various bands and variety shows.
Combining Teaching and Performing has been a busy lifestyle. As a qualified teacher in both Dance and Fitness, she teaches a wide range of Dance disciplines, Musical Theatre, Drama, fitness, and has tutored in over eighteen different colleges, both full time and part time.
In 2009 she began working with The University of Chichester to develop a new full time programme which is one of the most successful programmes in the UK. There she was Senior Lecturer of Dance and Musical theatre until she left to emigrate in 2011.
As an avid believer in ‘continued teacher training’ she therefore constantly strives to further her own qualifications (Courses undertaken at ‘The London Centre of Theatre Studies’ and Imperial Society of Dance).
As a ‘Performer’ she has appeared in many musicals in professional theatre. Her Theatre credits include, HOLLYWOOD AND BROADWAY – UK Tour, (as Dance Captain), HOT STUFF (Rock musical – featuring as solo female dancer), SINGIN IN THE RAIN, 1999, OLIVER, 2000 ALADDIN, (Leicester Haymarket Theatre) DIVORCE ME DARLING, 98Chichester Festival Theatre, CINDERELLA, Mayflower Southampton 96 (Understudy as Cinderella opposite Brian Conley), also CINDERELLA, Churchill Theatre, Bromley with Ronnie Corbett), the UK tour of CALAMITY JANE and in her theatre debut as a JET girl in WEST SIDE STORY 93. Television appearances include, CORONATION STREET, EMMERDALE, MEDICS, RECKLESS, THE RUSS ABBOT SHOW, INSUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES for ITV, and BROOKSIDE for Channel 4
Her passions also involve writing, directing and choreographing musicals for theatre and her experience spans on and off stage as she continues to perform as a musician Singer and drummer.
She was the owner and director of the vocational theatre School 'The Australian Musical theatre School ' (AMT) in Boronia for eight years but decided to focus on her school resources after getting her last students through their teaching exams.
Katie has just successfully gained a position teaching performing arts at Toorak College in Mount Eliza and she plans to split her time between working for the government funded programmes such as ‘The Song room and The Drama Tool box where she can focus on developing syllabus for academic schools and dance colleges.
She is delighted to be teaching at ‘Emerald School of Dance’ with her close friend and colleague Katherine Holmes.

Shane Marshall

Shane has taught and performed both throughout Australia and internationally. Some o f the companies and events he has worked for include 'Silvers Circus', 'Indigenous Hip Hop projects', 'Off the Street Hip Hop', 'Fun Fit', 'Monster Energy', Cultural Infusion', 'Shadow Wars', 'Australian Breakdance Championships, 'Masters Jam', 'Space Jam' and 'Freestyle Session Australia'.
